Urgent Shipments to Colombia

ARTICLE 192. POSTAL TRAFFIC AND URGENT SHIPMENTS. 

 

<Article modified by article 4 of Decree 1470 of 2008. The new text is as follows:> Correspondence consignments, consignments arriving to the national territory through the official postal network and urgent consignments, can be imported using this method, as long as its value does not exceed two thousand dollars of the United States of North America (US $ 2,000) and require quick delivery to its consignee.The imported merchandise as established for this modality, is freely available.

ARTICLE 193. REQUIREMENTS OF POSTAL PACKAGES AND URGENT SHIPMENTS.

 

<Article modified by article 18 of Decree 1232 of 2001. The new text is as follows:> Under this modality, only parcels and express consignments that fulfill simultaneously may be imported into the national customs territory, in addition to correspondence items. The following requirements:
  • 1.  That its value does not exceed two thousand dollars of the United States of North America (US $ 2,000).

  • 2.  That its weight does not exceed fifty (50) kilograms.

  • 3. That they do not include merchandise on which there are legal or administrative restrictions for their importation, except in the case of shipments that do not constitute a commercial expedition. It will be understood that these are shipments that do not constitute commercial expeditions, those that do not exceed six (6) units of the same class.

  • 4. Not including the goods contemplated in article 19 of Law 19 of 1978, approving the Universal Postal Union Agreement.

  • 5. Not including weapons, publications that attempt against morality and good customs, precursor products in the elaboration of narcotics, narcotics or drugs not authorized by the Ministry of Health * and merchandise whose importation is prohibited by article 81 of the Political Constitution or by international agreements to which Colombia has adhered or adhered.

  • 6. That its measurements do not exceed one meter with fifty centimeters (1.50 mt.) In any of its dimensions, or three meters (3 mt.) The sum of the length and the largest contour taken in a different direction from the length, when it comes to postal packages.
